Australia always sparked my interest as a country I wanted to travel to, perhaps because of the classic Disney movie The Rescuers Down Under. Or maybe because that’s where Ian Thorpe was from, a role model of mine in the swimming world.
Whatever the case, I knew that I had to go there.
Australians speak (funny) English, so I didn’t have to worry about learning a new language. From what I can tell, they ate similar food. Pretty much a carbon copy of the United States, right?
Well, not exactly.
Why Should You Travel to Australia?
From the stunning red rocks of Uluru in the vast outback to the Great Ocean road outside of Melbourne, Australia has some truly epic natural beauty to see.
Likewise, they have some really cool animals too… kangaroos and koalas just to name a few.
Although I barely scratched the surface of Australia (didn’t make it to Perth or the Great Barrier Reef or anywhere up north for that matter), I did see are great amount during my two months there.
Because it’s so big, a popular way to see Australia is by camper van or camper car. You can even manage to get one of these vehicles for free. I’m not kidding.
While it doesn’t top the list of the cheapest countries to travel to, Australia can certainly be done on a budget. Check out a few of my blog posts below for some Australia inspiration, mate.
